Gengar Ex is a disruptive force, with an ability that disables all supporter cards, effectively breaking up combos, reducing drawing power, and forcing opponents to chip away at Gengar Exs large HP with basic attacks

Even with the translations, its abilities were hard to decipher, and the card was eventually banned from play

Ordinarily, a snowy setting like the one shown on this card would be reserved for a card featuring an Ice-type Pokmon, not a Steel/Psychic-type like Metagross

Blue players prefer a cerebral, interactive style of Magic , and they prefer to play it at a significant advantage

While I think it's a little worse than something like Oath of Nissa, this is easily the best version of a "Commune with" card since it can hit all creatures, as opposed to something like just Dinosaurs and lands or something
