Those cards are considered to be "used to craft" that permanent as long as they remain exiled and the permanent remains on the battlefield, even if the permanent's controller changes or some of its characteristics change (because of a copy effect, for example.) The card itself is pretty great as well, allowing you to make vampire tokens, deal 13 damage, or look at the top card of your library and put it into your hand at the cost of losing life equal to its mana value
The sheer amount of power in the deck makes it a huge treat, and with some tweaking, you can make use of all that power and land ramping by just ramping into those bigger creatures

Some tutors may be expensive, but you can use pseudo-tutors like transmute cards as an easy replacement
