Most control decks on the other hand are either going more the direction of the agro decks and getting card advantage alongside their other effects from cards like Consecrated Sphinx or planeswalkers or they are running a card advantage engine such as Life from the Loam
Having trample is a nice bonus, as the creature can't simply be chumped blocked when it attacks

The push to help white has been clear, but WOTC has also expressed a desire to make new Commander cards less generically powerful, instead fitting into more specific strategies so they dont become auto-includes that homogenize the format
There are also some very nice reprints with Mystic Forge, Caged Sun, Gilded Lotus, and Living Death, making this likely the best deck in the bunch for reprints
