Ihumatao Art while acrylics can add vibrantA hidden gem not too far away from Auckland airport where I use to cycle a lot when I was a teenager. Ihumtao is an archeological site of historic importance in the suburb of Mngere, Auckland. Once a p site, it stands on the Ihumtao Peninsula, at the base of tuataua, part of the Auckland volcanic field. Mori first settled in the area as early as the 14th century CE.
