Whether from a church or once strapped to a chain link fence on the roadside I'm not sure

Someone certainly put a lot of effort into it

They are woodblock prints of kimono textile designs by F uruya Krin, also known as Krin Furuya, and Furutani Krin, 18751910, a Japanese artist, illustrator, and designer active in the Kyoto arts and crafts circle in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Published c. 1900 I believe in a volume titled "Bijutsukai." Paper: 9 1 2" x 6 9
