One side of the planter features a large white crane set against a red sky and blue waves below

but  just great small sculptures wherever one puts them

framed on all sides by these exuberant decorative flourishes

and the whole trivet has been varnished giving it a great shine--really a great little piece

1930s-1960s French School Notebooks with Maps, Drawings, Penmanship - Lot of Three early modern for bakingThis is a lot of three French school notebooks found together but which span 30+ years, so I'm guessing it was the teacher who was the throughline. You know I have a hard time resisting school notebooks, and hand drawn maps, too, so of course I had to bring these home. And many many maps there are, detailing France in many aspects and iterations, but other parts of the world, too. Plus penmanship, a bit of arithmetic, poems with illustrations, and
