I love this little clay lion

with a few irregularities to the glaze that appear as darker or lighter spots in a few places

and overall a fair amount of surface wear to the wood

with some damage to the splint ash that holds one of the handles in place (the ash shows cracking

Penny Covered Folk Art Bottle porcelain bowls presumed mid- to late-19th centuryI'm not really sure whether to call this penny covered bottle folk art or tramp art or just plain crafty, but I rather love it. Part of what I think makes it great is its utter impracticality this thing weighs about 10 pounds! so while the cork in the bottle implies that it might be filled, it would be quite a thing to pour from! I also love the tenacity heroicism, really of its maker, who persisted in gluing these pennies one by one, layer by layer,
