Gloriously Colorful Old Velvet Piecework Seven Point Star Paris sketchbook and I'm pretty fussy aboutI found this one at the Rhinebeck show last weekend and thought it fantastically beautiful like the sort of 19th c. geometric watercolors or ink drawings I am always hoping for but rarely finding, and all the better for being stitched together of lushly colored, carefully cut pieces of velvet. And the flip side is as good as the front in a different sort of way, showing the backing as sewn together of pieces of what I believe is sack cloth, some
