I believe it was made to hold three small pots from the two undulating horizontal wires that run across the center

There are some light scratches and some aging to the brass

but very little on the side with the boy and chick

The design is typically attributed to Aldo Londi for Bitossi

Double-sided Inuit Soapstone Carving with Figures and Eagle Darwall scarf just adding to its auraI may especially love this Inuit piece because the expressions and postures of the two figures remind me EXACTLY of photographs of my older brother and I playing in the snow when we are kids! But I think I'd find it wonderful regardless, for the details on their parkas and pants in addition to those great faces, and also for the way their are cropped and lean a little right, as if trying to match the angle of the stone.
