Lovely Little Antique Stool with Scalloped Sides unique whimsy The bowl with the "X"

The bowl with the "X" design at center of each side measures 6 7/8" across at wides and 3 3/4" tall

which I believe would have held it tight to the long post

as if they are old friends and this happens everyday

which I'd guess dates to the 1930s or so based on others I've seen

with a repaired foot that makes one leg a bit longer than the other so that he stands a bit lopsided—all the more lovable for it I think

Lovely Little Antique Stool with Scalloped Sides unique whimsy The bowl with the "X"So hard to pass by a sweet old stool, and this one, found in Maine, feels extra special for its diminutive scale a perfect pedestal for carved whimsies or figures or other smallish things. It looks to me as though it was once painted as there is some creamy white paint on the heads of the old nails, but no other paint visible anywhere, just a great warm dry wood patina. 19th c. New England I believe. 10 1 4" x 4 1 2" x 5 t. Excellent antique
